SAFETY MEASURES

Pre-arrival

  1. We politely request that if you are displaying any symptoms of Covid-19 that you call us to postpone your stay. These include; A  high temperature, a new and persistent cough and loss of taste and smell.  Find out more. 

  2. We strongly recommend that you download the government-approved track and tracing app to ensure we are all alerted to any  guests who may pose a risk of spreading Covid-19.

Arrival & check-in

  1. We politely request that if you are displaying any symptoms of Covid-19 that you do not enter the hotel. These include; A high temperature, a new and persistent cough and a loss of taste and smell. Find out more. 

  2. We have put in place signage on arrival and throughout the hotel detailing the guidelines to protect you and our staff. Any guests or visitors displaying Covid-19 symptoms may be asked to leave the premises.

  3. Hand sanitising stations are provided at all entry and exits, customers will be required to sanitise before entering the hotel.

  4. Our check-in process has been streamlined to allow for a fast and reduced-contact experience. Our preferred method of payment is contactless, to avoid the handling of cash.

  5. All surfaces, door handles and equipment are regularly cleaned and sanitised throughout the day. Tables, chairs etc are sanitised between sittings.

  6. If you have any special requirements, please let us know before you arrive so we can make the necessary preparations with everybody’s safety in mind.


Common areas

  1. We have heightened and enhanced our cleaning procedures to include extensive cleaning of shared surfaces throughout the day

  2. We have set up hand sanitising stations throughout the hotel for you to use and we politely ask you use these when entering the hotel.

  3. We have equipped our customer toilets with sanitising hand wash at the basins, as well as disposable hand towels.

  4. When walking through the hotel we will ask that you please use your discretion and consideration by keeping within the Government's guidance. We have put in place floor markings and guidance signage throughout the hotel to assist.

  5. As per government guidelines, our staff members will be wearing visors/masks at all times throughout the hotel. The guidelines state that masks or visors to be worn in public/common spaces.

  6. We politely ask guests to wear a face mask whenever not seated at a table, therefore when in public areas, using washroom facilities, walking to and from tables or any other time not seated at a table in one of our bars, lounges or tearoom/breakfast areas. We have an extra supply of face masks should you require this.

  7. We provide table service only. Please stay seated in the Skippers Pub, Ha’Penny Tea Room and Function Room areas. Please ask our friendly staff who will happily bring you your drinks and food.

Bedrooms & Bathrooms

  1. Every guest bedroom en-suite is fully sanitised and disinfected before each stay and sealed to ensure no contamination occurs prior to your arrival.

  2. Fabric items such as mattresses, pillows, cushions, carpet, chairs and other furniture are sprayed with an approved sanitising solution, which is effective in killing Covid-19 but otherwise harmless to you and us.

  3. All surfaces are thoroughly wiped down and cleaned prior to your arrival.

  4. Linens and towels are professionally washed on high heat, with added sanitisation.

  5. All printed material has been removed from your room to avoid cross-contamination.

  6. Keys will be sanitised before your arrival and left on a pre sanitised worktop. 

  7. Our housekeeping staff undergo strict sanitisation prior to starting work and will wear the appropriate PPE during cleaning.

  8. Daily servicing by our housekeeping team will only be available upon request, should you require this service, rooms will need to be vacant and personal items including toiletries stowed away.

  9. Sanitising spray and anti-bacterial hand wipes are supplied in the rooms for guests.

Food & drink

  1. Ha’Penny Tea Room: Tuesday – Friday from 10am to 3pm

  2. Skippers Pub Meals: Friday from 5pm to 8pm and Saturday from 2pm to 8 pm. 

  3. All Breakfast will be served in the Ha’Penny Tea Room from 7am – 10:00 

  4. We are open to non-residents for light-lunches and afternoon tea. Pre-booking for Afternoon Tea is essential as we prepare everything fresh on site.  

  5. When you stay with us you can dine in your room or, where guidance and regulations permit.

  6. Ha’Penny Tea Room will have the tables set out in such a way to ensure social distancing.

  7. No more than six people can sit together (from one single household or if a support bubble)

  8. To maintain the social distancing guidelines, we will not be offering drinks at the bar instead, we will offer a full table service throughout the hotel.

  9. Condiment caddies are sanitised between use.

  10. Hand sanitising stations have be set up at the entry and exit points and should be used every time you enter or exit dining areas. Anti-bacterial sprays are provided on each table.

  11. As per government guidelines, non-residents must vacate our premises by 10pm and our bar will stop serving at 10pm. (last orders at 9:30pm sharp.

  12. We will continue to ask guests to provide information for the NHS track & trace system. We will no longer allow guests to dine or drink with us if they do not provide these. 

Our people: training, hygiene and protection

  1. All of our hotel teams have undergone comprehensive hospitality-focused training on how to prevent the contagion of Covid-19.  We will continue to elevate our training as best practices evolve. 

  2. Any staff member who shows symptoms will be immediately sent home and will be required to self-isolate for 14 days prior to returning to work.

  3. Hand sanitising stations are located at all entry and exit points and back of house for the staff to use.

  4. As per government guidelines, our staff members will be wearing masks at all times throughout the hotel. The guidelines state that masks or visors to be worn in public/common spaces. 

Three-tier restrictions
If you are a resident in a 'very high' alert level area, we ask you to avoid staying overnight in another part of the UK, except if you need to for work, education or caring responsibilities.
